Aerolam XLPE carries the GreenPro ecolabel and is FM Approved (Class 4924).
What makes Aerolam XLPE a genuinely green choice
Aerolam XLPE is a chemically cross-linked, closed-cell polyolefin foam. That closed-cell structure is the reason it behaves well over time: water and moisture absorption stay negligible, the foam resists fungal growth rather than feeding it the way open-cell bonded materials can, and the K value stays stable instead of drifting as the material ages.
The FM Approvals listing for Aerolam XLPE Insulation goes further and confirms specific green attributes: the product reduces water usage, contains no urea-formaldehyde, and contains no CFC or HCFC. These are the kind of details a green building assessor actually checks, not just a leaf icon on a leaflet.

GreenPro and FM Approved, explained simply

GreenPro ecolabel and FM Approved mark.
GreenPro. GreenPro is an ecolabel from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), launched in 2015, that assesses a product’s environmental performance across its life cycle rather than accepting a company’s own “eco-friendly” claim.
FM Approved. FM Approvals is a global testing and certification body under the FM Global group. Aerolam XLPE Insulation is FM Approved under Class 4924 for pipe and duct insulation, tested for use over the exterior of non-combustible pipes and ducts without needing additional sprinkler protection. The listing also carries FM’s Green Product designation, confirming the water-usage, urea-formaldehyde-free and CFC/HCFC-free attributes noted above. Aerolam Insulations Pvt. Ltd. in Ahmedabad, Gujarat is verified on FM’s own Approval Guide.
Together, these two marks cover different ground: GreenPro speaks to sustainability, FM Approved speaks to tested performance and safety. A supplier who can show both is easier to trust than one who only shows a logo.
Built for the long run, not just the first summer
A closed-cell structure that resists moisture and fungal growth doesn’t just perform well on day one. It keeps performing years later, because there’s no damp patch quietly working its way through the material and no mould into its thermal value. Combined with a stable K value, that means the energy savings you calculate at installation are still roughly the savings you’re getting well into the life of the building. It also means far less callback work: the XLPE insulation is maintenance-free once it’s fitted, so it isn’t something your facilities team needs to plan around.
For anyone specifying top XLPE insulation in India for a multi-year asset, whether a factory, a cold store or a commercial building, that durability is really the point. Insulation that needs replacing in three years never actually pays for itself.
A quieter monsoon: XLPE and rain noise
Under-deck insulation on a metal roof is usually chosen for heat. But XLPE’s acoustic properties matter just as much once the monsoon arrives. Rain drumming directly on bare metal sheeting is loud enough to disrupt meetings, phone calls or a factory floor; a layer of XLPE Insulation foam fitted below the sheet absorbs a good deal of that impact noise, so the drumming is noticeably quieter indoors. It’s a benefit that rarely gets asked about at the quotation stage, but anyone who has sat through a monsoon under an uninsulated roof usually asks for it on the next project.
